In case you hadn’t heard, Pantone’s color of the year is Marsala! There were a lot of mixed emotions regarding the color choice, and I was on the fence for a bit.
Marsala is a really rich color, and I’d love to incorporate it as an accent color somewhere in the house!
I do love the color, I’d really like to use it in the fall especially, but I would never ever paint a room in it, or buy a large piece of furniture in the color.
The idea of some marsala accent pillows and maybe even a small rug could really change a space.
I even was thinking about picking up some Marsala paint and trying my hand at using it to create some custom art for my gallery wall (that I have yet to start, oops)
What do you think of Marsala? Yay or nay?

I have been OBSESSED with this color ever since it was announced as the Color of the Year! I’d love to work it into my home decor as well. I’m thinking of dying some curtains for the living room in this color to break up the neutrals we have going on. Great inspiration board!

Curtains in marsala would be so bold and really break up the neutrals!

I like this color a lot! I wear it, but haven’t used it in decorating. My living room is navy and yellow {channeling Van Gogh} so I’m pretty sure adding a shade of red would scream LEGO. LOL

Haha! That cracked me up!
I think that would be a little to colorful!, and I do love the color for clothing/accessories, too.

Agree, I’m not so sure about it, either! It’s such a dark color. I like more light and airy colors myself! Thanks for linking up with us at Motivational Monday! Hope to see you back on Sunday at 6pm!

Great collection, but I wish they would have chosen one of the blues. I’m not sure I like this color for all year - maybe for Fall and into Winter, but it’s just too drab for the rest of the year.
Maybe next year I’ll get my blue!

I wish it would have been a blue, too! Blue was all around the design world in 2014 and all over the magazines!
I love decorating with different blues, too.

I am not a fan of marsala! I think it was done in the 90s. LOL! I prefer lighter palettes. Was hoping for blue!

Lol, it does remind me of the 90’s! I think for a fall color or just a hint of it could bring more color to a room.
I agree, I really wish it was a blue, though!
Maybe we will luck out this year!
