I can’t believe I didn’t realize it, but last week was my 2 month blogiversary! I hope my blog doesn’t hold this against me for the rest of our relationship. So, to celebrate my blogging, I wanted to share with everyone what got me started on my blogging adventure.
Abby from Just A Girl and Her Blog is officially my favorite person ever. When I found out that she wrote a blogging e-book and was offering it for whatever price you wanted to pay (you should pay a million dollars for this book, it is pure gold), I finally decided to take the blogging dive. See, I had been wanting to blog for quite a while, but I was always afraid to. I had the typical fears: What if no one reads it? What if I spend all of this money on setting the blog up and maintaining it and it isn’t worth my time? What if people think I’m bad at it? Will my family and friends think it is a weird hobby?Well I say take the leap and start blogging, dangit!
PS- Abby said she had similar fears, too, and just look at how successful she has been!
When I bought Abby’s book I read it over a million times and clung on to it for the longest time until I finally felt comfortable enough to start blogging. Like, literally, I have a billion post it notes and scribbles in that book and studied it like I was being tested on it.
Ok, anyway, less about me, more about this e-book! Abby covers everything, I mean everything! She shares how to start your blog and uses good ole English to explain coding, domains, hosting, and plugins. She also covers one of the most important parts of blogging- relationships. I can’t even begin to tell you how important it is to have a relationship with other bloggers, so I won’t, I’ll let Abby tell you! 😉
Building A Framework also includes a billion links to other blogs that are great for reference and she also shares her strategies! I mean, she couldn’t make it any easier to be a successful blogger. She even tells you how to make some moolah with your blog- and I’ll be honest, I may have skipped right to this part of the book first! 😛 Although it is great to make money with your blog, as of now, I’m making $0 off of my blog, but that is fine! It is so much fun to collaborate with others and write about my projects that I’d be fine if I never made a dime! (Although I won’t complain if anyone wants to pay me to blog 😀 )
Since I’ve started really pushing myself to work hard and follow Abby’s suggestions and strategies I’ve been contacted by other bloggers to be a part of several blog hops, I’ve been a contributor on another blog, and I’ve even been contacted by a company to partner with on future posts! If I hadn’t read this book, I wouldn’t be where I am right now- sitting on my lunch break writing this review, hah!
July 22nd was the official day I hit publish on my first post, and I could not have done it without this book! I also need to thank every single person who has read my blog and every blogger who has helped me out, given me tips, and featured my projects! It means more than the world to know that my mom isn’t the only who cares what furniture I paint and what projects I make. 😉
Still not convinced? Here are some bloggers that I love who have reviewed and adore this book as much as I do!

So what are you waiting for, go buy this e-book!
*Update: Abby now has the book for sale at the fixed price of $24. The flexible pricing option is no longer available. But for $24, it is well worth it!
