While snow has avoided our area of the country since the beginning of the season, I have happily (and sometimes grumpily) treated my home like a ski lodge since I started decorating on Halloween. Yes, you read that right. I did whip out our Christmas tree on Halloween night (blame it on my loneliness this holiday season while Cyle is deployed) and have been in the holiday mood since then.
This year I didn’t stray too far from prior years in my tree decor, but I focused more on a theme (besides red and rustic colors like in the past). I wanted to create a ski lodge/cabin vibe in the entire house, so I focused on that aspect with the tree.
I added tons of items from Target Dollar Spot from years past and present including the skis, skates, and the sleds.
The burlap ribbon was a quick decision, that in the future, I may change to be more bold and colorful (I’m thinking a ribbon with ticking stripes or cabin print on it for next year!).
Happy holidays everyone! I hope your days are merry and bright, and your tree is overflowing with lights, beautiful ornaments, and pretty presents underneath. A Christmas kitty is also a plus. <3
