Every year I always try to make an immaculate and beautiful tablescape for each holiday, but since our table is so small I always have issues. If I do a long and big centerpiece it looks beautiful, but then we can’t sit our regular sized dinner plates on the table without moving it around, so I am always forced to choose between a small and simple centerpiece so we can actually eat on our table, or choose to go all out and say “screw it” to practicality!
This year I was able to mix both worlds a bit and put together this colorful little pumpkin and olive branch centerpiece.
I picked up this chalkboard cheese board/serving tray at Aldi last year and started off with that and the cake stand to add height.
Then I just filled in all the empty table space in the center with olive branches from the Target dollar spot and Michaels and then stacked pumpkins from years past and from the Target dollar spot this year (it always gets me, guys!).
I’ve got plenty of room this year to place our plates on the table without messing up our centerpiece now!
And hopefully this time next year we will be moved into (or preparing to) a home where we can have a big dining table and I can do a gorgeous tablescape like all the other bloggers I love!
