My favorite part of having a real front door (I’ve always lived in apartments ever since I ventured out on my own) is getting to decorate and for everyone to see my DIYed monogrammed wreath! This wreath is so easy (just like every DIY I do) and is quick and simple to change out for each season. And of course, everyone loves monogrammed things! 😀
I don’t quite remember the price for everything (the letter was $17 at Hobby Lobby), but this wreath can be super cheap if you use coupons, or supplies on hand- which I did both of 😉
To start off with grab some thick burlap ribbon to attach the letter to the wreath, as well as to use to hang the wreath. Hobby Lobby sells the rolls fairly cheap, and with enough to make a few projects out of.
Tie a pretty bow on top of the wreath- I’m a novice at tying bows, so mine isn’t the pretties. I also pushed a T-pin through the center of the bow (see if in the above picture?) just to be sure it stayed tied and use pliers to bend the other end into an L so it doesn’t just fall out.
For the flowers I chose red and white to match the flowers we have planted outside.
Winchester was impatiently waiting inside the door throwing a fit because he couldn’t be outside with his momma. Poor baby.
Can you tell by the dust on the letter that I don’t use my front door very much?
The convenience of an attached garage does have its downsides.:)
To make this wreath easy to change up for the seasons, instead of hot gluing or adhering the picks into the wreath, just push them through the wreath and slightly bend the wiring to keep them put. No hot glue, no tying, just set them in the wreath and walk away! 🙂
For the fall I have some deeper red flowers and some yellow that I will add.
Once Christmas time hits (hurry up!) I’ll add some evergreen picks and candy canes.
*UPDATE I just decorated for Halloween, so here is a bit of a peek into what I’ve done with this wreath for the spooking season! 🙂 More details on this in a bit when I post my Fall Front Porch Tour! 🙂
Do you have any super simple door decor? You guys all know by now that I am game for changing things up around here!
