A while ago I let ya’ll in on the drama in my life; we had a huge water leak in our house (more details here) and had to tear up our living room to repair the damage. Cyle and I were content with just replacing the ruined wall, scrubbing the carpet (that we hate anyway) and painting everything.
But our friends had another idea…
I did share on my Instagram some peeks into the work going on in the house, but I kept it vague on what exactly we were doing and why/how we remodeled our entire living room/hallway.
It was a complete surprise for Cyle while he was gone for 3 ½ weeks for some yearly training for the army.
Right before he left for training, our group of friends came to me with an idea. They, along with Cyle’s weekday boss, wanted to thank him for his extra work at his daytime job, for his military service, and for his upcoming deployment, by surprising him/us by completely remodeling our front room.
I argued and argued with them that we couldn’t accept them doing this. We’ve prided ourselves on never needing any “handouts” or much help, and I felt utter guilt that they wanted to do this. But they really didn’t give me a choice, it kind of came down to a “Get off your high horse, Kristina and let us do this! We’re gonna do it anyway!” loud discussion with them that led me to say ok.
Three weeks later, after living in our bedroom, having no kitchen or living room (our kitchen stored everything while they worked), and being exhausted and excited from the way, we got this beautiful new room.

I will clarify that the walls come off more blue than they are, they are more of a medium grey with blue tones. 😉
I’ve got some decorating left to do, but I’m not in any hurry to put more holes in the walls until I know for certain that what we will be putting up on the walls.
