Y’all I’m way behind my game! I decorated so early this year but had the worst time getting around to photographing and sharing my house this year, I blame it on my busy schedule and the gloomy weather.
Like I’ve mentioned a million times before, I really wanted our home to feel like a ski lodge/cabin with the use of greenery, cozy colors, and sleds/skis inside and outside the house.
Almost everything in our home is from years past, and I’m proud to say so much of it was bought from local vendors or small shops!
Ideally, I would have had a ton more greenery everywhere and some more antique skis/sleds, but alas, our budget (and my schedule) hasn’t allowed for me to go find the types of decor I’ve been looking for. On a funnier note, shortly after I wrote this all up and photographed it, I found similar greenery on super sale that matched the garland on our mantle- but I just couldn’t decide where to put it!
This Christmas time coffee table book is so cute! It answers questions about how Santa operates and helps walk your little believers through how Santa gets the presents under their tree. Grab a copy here if you need one!
I’ve struggled with my couch decorating for some time, this year I opted to toss my normal pillows into our bedroom to beautify that more (check that all out here) and left our normal blues in the living room with some smaller Christmas pillows to compliment them. I’m going to grab some more of the plaid pillows for next year to have all throughout the house because they make SUCH a difference in transforming our couch!
Our mantle is 100% my favorite part of our living room. I got the brass reindeer candle holders from an antique store last year, the stocking from another small antique store, and the books and bottles from an auction this year! The garland is from years past, and I found similar garland at Michael’s this year.
As you probably could tell, I went with a lot less decor this year in order to make my life easier, as well as to really see how well I could decorate and show the season without making it look like Santa threw up everywhere. I’ve learned in the past few weeks of having the decor up that, while I do like the simplicity of it, I REALLY love the Christmas craziness a lot more! So next year Cyle better watch out, I’m going back to my insane Christmas decorating. 😉
